Elena Vilallonga, Barcelona 1966.

Licenciada en Filología Inglesa, ha traducido del inglés y del francés, entre otros, a Oscar Wilde, Jerry Grotowsky, Le Corbusier, Jack London, Doris Lessing, Toni Morrison, Adrienne Rich, Odilon Redon, Nancy Huston, Jane Lazarre, además de una larga colección de libros de artes escénicas, tras una temprana formación en música y teatro. Su primera incursión en el cine de ficción, como directora y guionista, la hace con el cortometraje en celuloide Tarjeta Roja, que la lleva al Festival de Venecia. Continúa con distintos metrajes de ficción y documental, la mayor parte de producción propia, todos ellos filmes que han recorrido festivales internacionales, como el retrato del músico On The Fly: Cecil Taylor, o la aproximación a la infancia de un cineasta, con Naturaleza Tarkovski. Escribe poesía y periódicamente recoge sus poemas en ediciones de autor.

With a degree in English Literature from the University of Barcelona, she has worked consistently as a translator of novels, scripts, plays and essays from English & French into Spanish, by authors among whom should be included Oscar Wilde, Jerry Grotowsky, Le Corbusier, Jack London, Doris Lessing, Toni Morrison, Anne Sexton, Odilon Redon, Nancy Huston, and Jane Lazarre, in addition to a large book collection on performing arts after her early training on music and theatre. She has also directed many short films, among them,
Red Card, which brought her work to the Venice International Film Festival. She has gone on to film, direct and produce several film footages which have been seen at various international films festivals, such as her portrait of a musician: On the Fly: Cecil Taylor, or her approach to the infancy of a film-maker in The Nature of Tarkovsky. She writes poetry, selections of which she publishes periodically.
